When to Wash Salt Off Your Car in Connecticut

How do I get road salt off my car?
Pressurized water and foam aimed directly at the undercarriage. A regular car wash rinses the body but usually doesn't reach the frame and suspension where salt actually collects.
How often should I wash my undercarriage in Connecticut?
At minimum, once mid-winter and once at the end of the season. Every few weeks is better if you're driving highway miles or running a work truck.
Does road salt really cause rust?
Yes. Salt keeps moisture against bare metal and speeds up corrosion significantly. It's the main reason vehicles in the Northeast show underbody rust years before the same vehicle would in a dry climate.
